Farm House Sampler Block Nine and More from Log Cabin Quilter

The last block is done for the "Farm House Sampler" that JulieK and I are doing together.

I have been in a wool stitching mode and have some blocks to share.  The designs are from a 2015 Christmas Mystery quilt hosted by Farm House Threads.  Several designers provided free block patterns for the quilt.

The next block was a substitute block from another source.  I liked the design better because it filled the space in the block better.

I sewed them into a quilt top using Farm House Threads setting.
I purchased a hand

I purchased a handmade dough bowl ...

Farm House Sampler, Gathering Garden, Peace Hope and Love, and Country Paths from Log Cabin Quilter

My mid-month catch up.  The seventh block is done for the "Farm House Sampler" quilt Julie and I are working on.  There are a total of nine blocks for the quilt so progress is good having the seventh one done.

I completed a second block for the "Peace, Hope and Love" quilt.  There are a variety of block sizes for the quilt.  This is what I would call one of the medium blocks.  Both the block above and the one below are from patterns by Dawn Heese.

I completed a quilt top from a Kim Diehl pattern called "Gathering Garden ...

August Farm House Sampler Update and Sleigh Bells from Log Cabin Quilter

I am trying the new Blogger configuration.  I do not have it all figured out yet.

The August Farm House Sampler block is probably my favorite from the pattern.  I like the fabric I used for the flower pot (a Jan Patek fabric).  JulieK should have her block posted too for you to view.

I have to going through my stack of blocks to be sure but I think I have finished the applique for "Sleigh Bells".  Below are the final three large blocks.  I like the tree shapes on these blocks.  Easy to stitch.

I have more to share ...

July Farm House Sampler Update and More from Log Cabin Quilter

July's block.  Julie should have her block posted also.  http://juliekquilts.blogspot.com/  I am enjoying stitching the blocks as they are fairly easy.  And being prim in style, not a problem if something is a bit off.

My recent quilt top "Austin Bluebird Sampler" came back home from being machine quilted.  I added the binding for a finish.

I am working on two more quilt bindings so should have more finishes soon.

My "Beyond the Cherry Tree" blocks came out of the closet.  With the help of my friend Jean, they were arranged on the floor into their ...

Farm House Sampler Block Three from Log Cabin Quilter

Farm House Sampler block three is done.  Six more blocks to go.  I am using fabric that says "Time Worn Tool Box" on the selvedge.  I am not sure I like the very pale green look but am continuing on with it.

Julie posted hers early this month.  You can see it here.

I am working on a Jan Patek quilt pattern called "Sleigh Bells".  I have several of the easy blocks done and will share them later on.  Today, I am sharing one of the snowman baskets.  There are three in the design. I have quite a stack of ...

Farm House Sampler Block Two from Log Cabin Quilter

Julie and I agreed before starting "Farm House Sampler" that we would do a block a month and share it on the 15th.  Today is May 15th so it is time for block two.  To refresh your memory, the pattern set is by Dawn Heese of "Linen Closet Designs".

The shapes are large and fairly easy to stitch.  I usually do needleturn applique but on these blocks, I am doing a bit of starched edge prep ahead of time.  I did that for the flower shapes and leaves.  The background alternates between two fabrics.  I will put a picture of ...
